Bird's Eye View from the Penitentiary

I tried to imagine some enterprising prisoner producing postcards from pictures photographed from his cell window, but I don't suppose that was the case.  Maybe it was the prisoner's mother, who took the photo and had postcards printed to make bail for her wayward son. Probably not that either. In any case, the view from the penitentiary isn't one that would inspire me to try to escape if I were a prisoner.

  1. Maybe the card was bought as a warning to a potentially wayward son who had a love of green open spaces :)

  2. Well, without being able to turn the view around to see how things looked in the Pen, it is tough to know just how enticing the city beyond was...

  3. Funny! Maybe the prisoner could transfer here to Alcatraz ......

  4. When I toured Alcatraz and looked over at the lovely land (San Francisco) the sights, sounds and scents wavering through the gentle breezes, must have been quite a moment of bittersweet-memories for the prisoners!

  5. Pretty interesting concept on the viewer's prospective. If you swayed off the path you too could have this view?
